MAKROLYTE DROPS

COMPOSITION

  • Each ml contains :
  • Ambroxol Hydrochloride BP 7.5 mg
  • In flavoured base
  • Expectorant, Mucolytic.
Ambroxol causes an increase in secretion in the respiratory tract. It promotes surfactant production & stimulates ciliary activity. These effects assist the flow of mucus & its removal i.e. mucociliary clearance.
The increase in secretion & mucociliary clearance facilitate expectoration & reduce the cough.
Renal impairment : An accumulation of metabolites (predominantly conjugates of the parent substance) cannot be ruled out in severe renal impairment.

DOSAGES

  • The recommended daily dose is 1.2-1.6 mg/kg body weight.
  • Children under 2 years of age only when prescribed by a doctor : 7.5mg/1ml MAKROLYTE DROPS 5 – 10 drops 3 times daily.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of: Acute respiratory tract diseases with impaired formation of secretions, particularly in acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, bronchial asthma & bronchiectasis. Keep out of reach & sight of children.

MAKCID SUSPENSION

Aluminium, Magnesium and Dimethicone Suspension

COMPOSITION

  • Each teaspoonful (5 ml) contains :
  • Activated Dimethicone BP 50 mg
  • Magnesium Hydroxide BP 250 mg (added as Magnesium Hydroxide paste)
  • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide BP 250 mg (added as Aluminium Hydroxide paste)
  • Sorbitol Solution (70%) (Non crystallizing) BP 1.25 gm
  • Colour : Erythrosine
  • Incompatibilities : None
  • Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of manufacture.

ACTION OF MAKCID

Makcid reduce the total acid load and neutralize gastric acid. Aluminium hydroxide acts relatively slowly, providing sustained neutralizing action. Thus, combinations of Magnesium and Aluminium hydroxides works longer. Makcid contains Dimethicone, is an antifoaming agent that decreases acid reflux and acts as an antiflatulent. Makcid provide rapid relief of symptoms associated with hyperacidity in 1-3 hrs after a single dose.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

  • Store in a cool place, Protected from light. Avoid Freezing.

Cetirizine and Ambroxol Syrup

COMPOSITION

  • Each teaspoonful (5 ml) contains :
  • Cetirizine Hydrochloride BP 2.5 mg
  • Ambroxol Hydrochloride BP 0 mg
  • Colour : Sunset Yellow FCF
  • In Mint flavoured syrupy base.
  • Prescription Medicine.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

MAKBROCIZ Syrup is Contraindicated Pregnancy, breasting mothers, in old age patients use with caution, For children use with caution. in known hypersensitivity to the Ambroxol or Bromhexine or Cetirizine.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS WHILE TAKING MAKBROCIZ SYRUP

  • Renal impairment.
  • Hepatic dysfunction.
  • Haemodialysis.
  • Any work which require mental alertness like driving or machine operation. Special Precautions while taking Ambroxol.
  • Hepatic impairment.
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcer.
  • Convulsive disorders.

DOSAGES

  • MAKBROCIZ Syrup Adult: 5 ml twice / day or as directed by the Physician.

  • Each uncoated Chewable tablets contains :
  • Activated Dimethicone BP 50 mg
  • Magnesium Hydroxide BP 250 mg
  • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide BP 250 mg
  • Magnesium Aluminium Silicate Hydrate 50 mg
  • Colour: Ponceau 4R and Erythrosine
  • Shelf Life : 24 months from the date of manufacture.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

MAKCID 1-2 tablets to be chewed 30-60 min after meals or whenever symptoms are pronounced. To achieve adequate antacid effect in the stomach, 1 & 3 hours after meals and at bedtime. Makcid should not be taken in excess to 12 tablets in a 24-hour period. This maximum dosage should not be employed for more than 2 weeks, unless specially recommended by a physician.

INDICATIONS

Makcid is indicated for relief of symptoms of hyperacidity that are often associated with dyspepsia, peptic ulcer, gastritis, peptic oesophagitis and hiatus hernia. It is also indicated for relief of flatulence
